Aromatherapy Workshop: Stage One

I offer a teaching programme for those who have an interest in aromatherapy either as a career or a side project. The course runs over two days in small groups from my home in Devon. Individual aromatherapy courses can be arranged. I am proud to add that my workshop has been recommended twice by Woman and Home magazine (August 2006 and September 2008 issues) as well as being featured in the Observer's Guide to Massage and Relaxation (5-6 July 2008).
As well as taking part in the workshop, you will have time to relax and see the picturesque town of Totnes in Devon. Conveniently, Bed and Breakfast accommodation is run by neighbours - please contact me for details. If you arrive by train, you can be picked up by myself for your convenience.
The course will guide you through the essential first steps of aromatherapy including a little on its history and the benefits . There will also be practical sessions giving you the opportunity to practise aromatherapy massage on a volunteer. The course will include a handbook to accompany the teaching which you can keep for reference. On completion, you will have gained a good knowledge of the benefits of Aromatherapy. You will have a good understanding of the benefits and properties of many aromatherapy oils as well as feeling confident in basic massage techniques.
I have found that these workshops offer people the chance of a 'taster' with aromatherapy in order for them to realise whether it is indeed something they would like to pursue as a career or just as an enjoyable hobby. You will leave with a foundational level of knowledge, which you may later wish to build upon. This knowledge can be put to use on yourself as well as your friends and family with endless benefits.

Aromatherapy Workshop: Stage Two
I have now been running introductory Aromatherapy courses since 2004. Last year I was approached and encouraged by past students who wished to take the training one stage further along the healing path of Holistic Aromatherapy.The way I have always worked is with an entirely holistic approach treating the mind and the body as one. I also know it is important that each practitioner understands that they must remember to consider themselves as part of this holistic approach.
Therefore I am now offering another two-day course which will follow on from the first going into further detail and in particular applying the holistic approach to using aromatherapy. This course is open for non qualified aromatherapists also who may wish to explore holistic aromatherapy.
Those who have not participated in Stage 1 Course are very welcome to come and share their own experiences. A warm welcome to Aromatherapists, at any stage of their career, who feel for example, that they would like to learn more about the holistic approach, or that they want a further understanding of how to take care of themselves or just want to share with like minded people.

One Day Personal Development workshop
(5 CPD credits) Approved by CThA
I am now offering a course for both recently qualified aromatherapists who want extra support and ideas, and/or for those who may not have practiced for some time to act as a refresher course. It is also open to those (non qualified) who wish to explore holistic aromatherapy and for those people who have taken part in my Aromatherapy workshops.

For your information and reassurance, I have recently received an accreditation to teach these skills from the Complementary Therapists Association (formerly IGPP). For those of you who take part in the course, you'll also gain the advantage of earning 5 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points.

Because I take courses in groups, this experience will enable you to interact with like-minded therapists whether this be with concerns of a professional nature or on a personal basis. As I take these workshops within my own home practice, the environment is comfortable and non clinical so you can relax while you learn! I will be open to any questions you may have during the courses and offer support and aftercare should you need it, via email or telephone.

One Day Aromatherapy workshops: Pairs and small groups
I offer a new one day Aromatherapy workshop for pairs and small groups - be it couples, family members or friends.A one day course for those who just wish to find out how to take some time out for themselves away from the hectic world outside. Learning how to massage can really really help you unwind and relax at the same time. Discover essential oils and their many healing qualities. Taking part in this course as a pair will give you the comfort of learning with someone you know and the opportunity to help each other.

- Neck, Shoulder and Scalp Massage
Included in the course will be a handbook covering the techniques and safety guidelines you will have learned as well as a basic aromatherapy starter kit.
